You could scour the world and not find training facilities to match those available to Jaguar dealer apprentices. Unlike some manufacturers, we won't pack you off to a college to learn your craft on whatever bit of kit is currently available. Our training centres are equipped with the very latest vehicles and training equipment so you'll get the best possible grounding in both Jaguar and generic products and systems. Our catering facilities are legend in the network, and while training you'll stay in excellent local hotels where the teams will look after you (and keep an eye on you, so no misbehaving!).
Jaguar Technical Academy is the largest and most comprehensively equipped automotive retail training facility in the UK, and probably Europe. Opened in 1997, the purpose-built £3 million complex is the centre for all technical training (excluding body & paint) for apprentices based at dealerships in the southern half of the UK (roughly south of the M62). Most apprenticeships have a degree of technical content and Gaydon also plays host to apprentice induction and numerous other events, so all apprentices are regular visitors. Located on the edge of the Gaydon complex in Warwickshire where Jaguar and Land Rover have their corporate headquarters, Technical Academy can accommodate up to 150 students per day and includes 10 classrooms and a vast 1100 square metre open plan workshop, all equipped with the very latest in service equipment and presentation aids. Technical Academy is due to move to even bigger premises later in 2008.
Sited adjacent to the Jaguar Halewood assembly plant, near Liverpool, where Jaguar X-TYPE is produced, this is Jaguar's technical training centre for most apprentices based at dealerships in the northern half of the UK (roughly north of the M62). Opened in 2001, the purpose-built facility has a three-bay workshop stocked with an excellent range of late-model Jaguar vehicles for practical training, plus a large classroom / IT suite.
Set amidst the giant Jaguar Castle Bromwich manufacture and assembly plant in Birmingham which produces XK, XJ and XF model ranges, the Castle Bromwich training centre is the home of all non-technical apprenticeship training. Located in the dramatic Jaguar Visitors Centre, which welcomes thousands of school children each year for tours of the production plant, the state-of-the-art training centre has four large classrooms, a workshop and a computer suite. The facility is used for all theory-based sales, after sales and parts course content, and also for practical skills associated with accessing and using internal computerised systems such as JEPC (Jaguar electronic parts catalogue).
Located near Newbury in Berkshire, the body & paint training facility at Thatcham is the best in the business, boasting a dedicated 12,000 sq ft workshop complete with every bit of kit in the book, including:
  • Three paint ovens
  • Five repair jigs
  • Paint mixing equipment for all key paint suppliers
  • Aluminium repair section
  • Welding room (MIG and spot)
  • Preparation area
  • Quick repair and smart repair areas
  • Glass removal area
The Jaguar body & paint apprentices that attend the new centre for their four two-week long training blocks each year also have their own IT suite and common room.
