Student retention and pass rates for apprentices in the Jaguar and Land Rover dealer networks (Technical Academy operates both brands' programmes)
are not only the highest in the automotive retail industry, but are also higher than those for any other apprenticeship in any area of learning, statistics from the Adult Learning
Inspectorate confirm. Since Jaguar and Land Rover introduced the advanced apprenticeship programme in the 1990s, 95% of all enrolled students have gone on to successfully complete their courses.
In simple terms, for every 20 apprentices who’ve had a Day 1 at a Jaguar dealer, 19 will have gone on to complete the course, and almost all of them will have achieved the objective of NVQ Level 3.
This compares with an average retention rate for the automotive industry as a whole during that period of just 8 in every 20, with a Level 3 attainment rate of 39%. Retention and pass rates are
undoubtedly rising across the board, but the ALI’s data shows that the current pan-industry average for achievement in modern apprenticeships is just 36%, with almost half of all students dropping
out in the first year. Overall the most successful area of learning is Engineering, Technology & Manufacturing with a 59% pass rate. The poorest performer is Hospitality, Leisure, Sport & Travel, which records
only a 16% pass rate.
So, if you’re serious about a career in automotive retail then you should be seriously considering Jaguar as your
training provider of choice!
